When you look for a hall to rent for a birthday, you almost always end up between two extremes: the impersonal reception hall or the restaurant with a booked table and a closing time. There is a third way, and it is the one we describe here: a party at a masseria, with the garden, the grill going, and nobody switching off the music at midnight.

Why the masseria beats a venue in town

There is one difference, and it changes everything: exclusive use. The property is reserved for your party alone: no other tables, no events in the room next door, no imposed schedules. Concretely:

• The garden for the aperitivo, the buffet and cutting the cake under the stars;
• The vaulted hall in Lecce stone (55 m², up to 35 seated, 50 standing) for dinner and the quieter moments. It is air-conditioned, so the party works in summer just as it does in January; and if it rains, everything is safe indoors;
• The wood-fired barbecue and the oven for a convivial cookout, prepared by you or by our staff;
• Your music: playlists, karaoke or live musicians. Out in the countryside you won't disturb anyone.

How it typically unfolds

The parties that work best all share the same rhythm, and we describe it because it helps you picture your own: a long aperitivo in the garden while everyone arrives (the part nobody wants to end), the shared table, in the hall or outdoors depending on the season, with the cookout or the catering you chose yourself, the cake under the stars, and then the free-flowing tail of the evening: music, conversation around the fire, kids collapsing on the sofas. At a restaurant the bill grows per person; at a masseria you pay for the space once and you govern the food yourself. You can bring in your trusted rotisserie or caterer with no restrictions and no surcharges, use the kitchen and the grill, or ask us to arrange the food with local products. With 25-35 guests the difference compared to a fixed menu shows immediately, and the quality is yours to choose.

Which birthdays it works for

Almost all of them, honestly: milestone birthdays (30, 40, 50, 60...) with friends and family, family gatherings with three generations at the table, graduation parties, anniversaries. The style is the style of the house: real conviviality, long shared tables, the grill and laughter, not the nightclub format. The advantage no venue in town can offer: your guests can stay the night. Six independent lodgings, sleeping up to 16 guests: anyone coming from far away doesn't drive at night, and the next morning the party carries on with breakfast in the garden. The questions we always get

Until what time can the party go on? In the countryside there are no neighbours to disturb: the hours are yours. What about children? The garden is their kingdom. Parties where the kids run around while the grown-ups linger at the table are the speciality of the house. Do we need to book far in advance? Spring weekends and the summer go first; for a specific date it pays to move a few months ahead, for everything else less is enough.
