For a christening, a first communion or a confirmation, the classic route is one: the restaurant, with a set menu multiplied by the number of guests. It is the simplest formula, and often the most expensive one, with the least freedom of all. There is an alternative that many people never consider: renting the spaces of a masseria and organising the reception your own way.

How it works: the room is yours, you choose everything else

The formula is simple: we provide the spaces, you decide all the rest.

• The vaulted hall in Lecce stone: 55 m², up to 35 seated, cool in summer and sheltered if the weather turns. The right size for a family ceremony.
• The garden for the aperitif, the children's games and the photos.
• Free choice of catering: bring your trusted caterer or rotisserie, with no restrictions and no surcharges. No imposed menu.
• The kitchen at your disposal: if you prefer to do it yourself, there is a lodging with a kitchen where you can prepare, heat up and organise the service. Grandma's baking trays are welcome.

Why it beats the restaurant

At the restaurant you pay a per-person price that includes everything: the service, the room, the markup. Here the logic flips: you rent the space once and you control the food budget yourself. With a good local caterer, or with part of the food prepared at home, a party for 30 guests changes order of magnitude. And there is no second-seating schedule: the hall is yours for the day, with no one setting the table next to you.

An intimate party, not a formal reception

Let's be clear: we are not a two-hundred-seat banqueting hall. The masseria is an 18th-century farmhouse and its scale is that of family celebrations: the christening with grandparents, aunts and uncles, the first communion with classmates, the confirmation with lifelong friends. Long tables, the garden, children running around. If you are looking for a formal reception with table service for a hundred people, we will tell you honestly: we are not the right venue.

Guests coming from far away can stay the night

The advantage no restaurant can give you: up to 16 beds in 6 independent lodgings. Relatives arriving from out of town don't drive after lunch: they stay, and the party carries on calmly until the evening. See the lodgings.

In Carpignano Salentino, in the heart of the Grecìa Salentina: convenient from Martano, Calimera, Borgagne, Zollino, Corigliano d'Otranto and Maglie, twenty minutes from Otranto and half an hour from Lecce. A central location for guests from all over the province.
