Where to celebrate in Carpignano Salentino: a local's guide

Carpignano Salentino is a town that knows how to celebrate, and anyone who lives here knows it well. The patron saint festivities, the Festa te lu Mieru that fills the streets with new wine and pittule every December, the pizzica nights in summer. But when the party is yours, a birthday, an anniversary, a family ceremony, you need something different from the town square: a private space, on your own schedule and with your own music. The town's festivals (for inspiration)

If you are after atmosphere, the calendar of Carpignano and the nearby towns is generous: village festivals, the events of the Grecìa Salentina, and at the end of August the travelling Notte della Taranta festival, which also stops in the surrounding villages. For an evening with friends, this is often all you need.

At Masseria Montanari, an eighteenth-century farmhouse on the edge of town, you rent the vaulted hall in Lecce stone (55 m², up to 35 seated) and the garden, and you decide the rest: your trusted caterer or rotisserie, a kitchen available for those who cook at home, your music and your hours.

Which parties the masseria works for

Parties on the scale of family and friends: birthdays (including the milestone ones), christenings, first communions and confirmations, graduation parties, anniversaries, extended family dinners. The garden holds the aperitif and the children's games, the hall holds the long table, and if the weather turns, the party stays sheltered anyway.
